TOOELE, Utah. July 12, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A student at Tooele Junior High was flown to the hospital Monday afternoon falling through the school’s skylight.

Tooele City Police officer Tanya Turnbow said the incident happened at approximately 6 p.m. when officials were called to the school, at 411 W. Vine St., on a report of an injury.

“When officers arrived, they found two females had been up on the roof trying to retrieve a ball when one of them fell through the skylight,” Turnbow said. “She was treated on scene, then flown to Primary Children’s Hospital in stable condition.”

The extent of the girl’s injuries are not known at this time, and police did not confirm the age of the girls involved.

A post on the Tooele County School District Facebook page said students’ safety is the most important consideration.

“We do not condone trespassing or being in areas that are off limits. We hope for a quick recovery of the student, but cannot comment on the injuries or specifics regarding this incident,” said the post.
