SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 9, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the death of a missionary serving in western Africa.
“It is with profound sadness we announce the death of a young missionary serving in the Cote d’Ivoire Abidjan West Mission,” the statement says.
“Elder Spencer Owusu, age 24, passed away Thursday evening. He had reported not feeling well and was taken to an emergency room, but the exact cause of death is unknown at this time.
“Elder Owusu is from Ghana and had been serving since September 2018. We sincerely pray for his parents and loved ones as they mourn his passing and remember his life and service,” the statement says.
