According to Eric Hawkins, spokesman for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the women were serving in the Georgia North Atlanta Mission

“It is with profound sadness that we report the death of Sister Natalie Ann Barnard, age 20, from Snoqualmie, Washington. Sister Barnard has been serving since October of 14 in the Georgie North Atlanta Mission. She died as a result of injuries from an auto accident Friday. We extend our love and prayers in behalf of their families and loved ones at this difficult time.”

A second missionary, Sister Rachel Beckstrom, a 2014 graduate of Tooele High School, was seriously injured. She began her missionary service earlier this year.
