LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON, Utah, Dec. 31, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Little Cottonwood Canyon is set to close for a little over two hours Monday for avalanche control.

A tweet from Unified Police Department Canyon Alerts said the canyon will close fromĀ 11:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.

In addition, UDOT Avalanche tweeted there is a north side backcounty closure from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday for avalanche control which affects Gate B through Little Superior in Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Visitors who have parked in White Pine parking and areas south of the Little Cottonwood Creek are OK; others should move their cars or avoid the area, said the tweet.
