LOGAN, Utah, Nov. 19, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A Logan man has been booked into jail on suspicion of crimes against three children and one adult.
Rand S. Meyerhoffer, 45, has been booked on suspicion of aggravated sexual abuse of children ages 8 and 17, and a woman who was a minor during the alleged abuse, first-degree felonies; and one count of voyeurism, a class B misdemeanor.
The three girls were interviewed and said they had been touched inappropriately. The adult, now 31, said she had been abused by Meyerhoffer from ages 11 to 20, as had her sister who was also a minor at the time, a probable cause statement says.
The woman interviewed also said that while she was a teenager, Meyerhoffer had bought her alcohol, marijuana and methamphetamine. She also said Meyerhoffer pressured her to touch him while she drank alcohol.
The woman said Meyerhoffer kept a drawer of photos, and officers serving a search warrant found sexually-oriented photos of the woman from when she was a minor.
The photos, found in a room used by Meyerhoffer, appeared to have been taken without the knowledge of the victim, according to the probable cause statement, signed by Deputy Matthew Pearce, an officer with the Logan Police Department.
“During the interview prior to Rand invoking his right to counsel her admitted taking pictures of ‘butt cracks.'” the statement says.
Meyerhoffer, booked into jail on Thursday, is being held in lieu of cash-only bail of $100,680.
