Logan boy shoots toddler brother; victim in serious condition after accident

LOGAN, Utah, Sept. 6, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) – A Logan 3-year-old found a deer rifle Monday night, and accidentally shot his 13-month-old brother, according to police.

The younger boy was reportedly shot in the foot, and is expected to survive.

According to reports, the call came in at about 8 p.m. Monday from apartment residents who lived below and heard the gunshot, then saw two adults rushing the toddler to a car. The apartment building is in the area of 500 East and 500 North.

The adults took the child to Logan Regional Hospital, but the boy was later transported to Primary Children’s Hospital, in Salt Lake City. He is reported to be in serious condition.
