Utah, Nov. 24, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Utah Lt. Gov Spencer Cox tweeted Saturday night that he hit a deer on U.S. Highway 89.

“After six years of driving Highway 89 in the dark it was bound to happen— tagged a big buck tonight,” the tweet said.

“Fortunately we had seat belts on… but with no cell service and car completely disabled we were stuck. Miraculously the next car through was a good friend who stopped to help everyone!”

Cox, his wife and their four children reside in Fairview, in northern Sanpete County.

The town is almost 95 miles from Salt Lake City and Cox is known for his daily commutes to and from the State Capitol.
