SOUTH SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – October 17, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – A Magna man who was killed Friday night after crashing his motorcycle in heavy traffic on I-15 has been identified.
According to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Rob Wilkinson, Jefferson David Varner, 53, was heading southbound around 7:15 p.m. near 3200 South when he clipped the back of a stopped car while trying to change lanes.
Varner was thrown to the pavement and killed.
Investigators say he was not wearing helmet.
Southbound traffic on I-15 was tied up for nearly three hours while the UHP conducted its investigation.
