SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, June 19, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A man has been arrested after the May 26 shooting death of Nico Christopher Patino, 30.

The shooting happened in the Glendale neighborhood, near 1800 W. Fortune Road.

On Tuesday, Salt Lake City Police detectives booked Abdihakim Mohamed, 19, into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on one charge of aggravated murder, a first-degree felony.

The investigation started at 4:03 a.m. on May 26, a Sunday, after dispatch received several calls about a shooting near the Fortune Road address.

“Officers arrived and found Patino with a gunshot wound. He died on scene,” says a statement issued by the Salt Lake City Police public relations unit.
