MURRAY, Utah, May 30, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A man is facing felony charges after he allegedly raped a woman at a Murray massage parlor.

A probable cause statement from the Third District Court of Salt Lake County said Jose Santiago Tejeda, 26, is facing charges of rape, a first-degree felony; aggravated sexual assault, a first-degree felony; and assault causing substantial bodily injury, a second degree felony.

On Jan. 15, Tejeda entered a massage spa in Murray and requested a message, the probable cause statement said.

“During the message, Jose became aggressive and forced the victim’s clothes off of her,” the statement said. Tejeda than grabbed the victim’s neck and raped her, officials said.

“During the assault, the victim lost consciousness and could not breathe due to Jose putting so much pressure around her neck,” the statement said. “An employee forced the massage door open and the Jose ran out of the spa with just his pants on.”

All of his clothes were booked for evidence, the statement said.

Tejeda was transported to the Salt Lake County Jail with his bail set at $500,000.
