Man tries to drag woman into bushes near Dog Lake in Big Cottonwood Canyon, police say

BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON, Utah, July 9, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are looking for a man who allegedly tried to drag a woman into bushes in the area of Dog Lake in Big Cottonwood Canyon Wednesday.

“We need your help identifying a perpetrator,” according to a Facebook post from Unified Police Department.

“On Wednesday around 4 p.m., a woman was walking down the trail from Dog Lake with her daughter, near the trailhead at Butler Fork in Big Cottonwood Canyon,” the UPD post said.

She felt someone tug on backpack and suddenly realized a man was trying to drag her from the trail and into bushes. “She then pepper sprayed the man,” the UPD post said.

The man was over 6 feet tall, heavyset, with a long white or blond beard, freckles, a face mask and a black hoodie.
