CASTLE DALE, Utah, May 11, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A 37-year-old man was booked into the Emery County jail Friday after he allegedly “grabbed a little girl by the waist and covered her mouth,” according to court documents.

Emery County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the scene outside Emery High School. Officers were forwarded a photo of the man reported to have touched the girl. On arrival, they found the photo appeared to match Quintin Howard Drollinger, who was sitting alone at one side of the bleachers, his affidavit says.

Drollinger was detained while officials talked to the child, it says.

“She stated that our suspect had grabbed her around the waist and covered her mouth near the bathrooms,” the affidavit says.

“The victim stated that our suspect let her go when her friend noticed what he was doing. The victim was asked if she knew the suspect and she stated that she did not. While talking with the victim she was highly upset and had obviously been crying.”

The arresting officer suggested Drollinger be held without bail in part because the incident was at a public school event, and if free, he would have access to similar events. Drollinger was ordered held without bail.

In a released statement, Emery County Sheriff Tyson Huntington thanked residents.

“I would like to thank the citizens who helped protect and comfort the victim and preserve the scene until law enforcement arrived. Once again it goes to show how important our citizens are to law enforcement. Please be aware of your surroundings.”
