SOUTH JORDAN, Utah, Oct. 26, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — West Valley City police arrested a man for alleged drug and weapons charges after serving a search warrant on a storage unit he had rented in South Jordan.

Logan Scott Waters, 19, was being investigated for alleged distribution of illegal drugs, his affidavit says. His storage unit was at 10506 S. River Heights Drive.

“Probable cause was established due to past involvements and the search of the storage unit yielding a copious amount of illegal drugs and paraphernalia,” Waters’ affidavit says.

“A K-9 positively indicated for illegal drugs. A search warrant was authored and approved.”

Court documents say the unit search yielded:

  • 666.5 grams of marijuana in various forms

  • 21 grams Xanax
  • 10 amphetamine pills
  • 1692.5 grams of psilocybin mushroom edibles

A warranted search of a South Jordan residence associated with Waters yielded:

  • $6,200 in U.S. currently
  • A Glock 26 firearm
  • A shotgun
  • 0.57 grams of acid

“Based on my training and experience in investigating illegal distribution of drugs, it is believed that the amount of drugs found were a distributable amount,” the WVCPD officer’s statement says. It also noted that Waters is on felony probation.

Waters’ phone was taken into evidence. The affidavit recommended that Waters, who says he is currently homeless, be held without bail, which he has been.

Waters was arrested late Tuesday night for investigation of:
