SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, May 28, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A suspect was arrested after shots were fired near a Redwood Road bar in Salt Lake City early Monday morning.
The incident occurred outside the La Cabaña bar at 538 S. Redwood Road just before 1:55 a.m., the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.
“Dispatch was notified that a person was in custody related to a shots fired call at the above address,” the news release said. “Officers arrived and contacted security who had detained Oscar Ocequera, 25.”
Ocequera had been showing off his firearm in the parking lot of the bar, the news release said, then discharged the weapon twice.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
Ocequera was booked into jail for discharging the firearm near a structure, and possession of a firearm by an intoxicated person.
