WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Aug. 19, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Neighbors in the area of 4200 South and Markread Street were subjected to a ruckus around 4 a.m. Saturday, when a man with a bat started breaking up everything in the home in a violent display of temper.

A witness said the man could be heard almost a block away.

West Valley City Police Lt. Amy Maurer said officers were called to a domestic violence incident and arrived to find the man breaking up property and causing a commotion.

Maurer said officers reported seeing something that had the appearance of blood on a curtain and decided to go inside immediately and make contact with the man.

When police gained entry, they were confronted by the apparently out-of-control man and had to use a Taser to bring him into compliance.

“He had to be tased twice,” Maurer said, “because the first time wasn’t effective.”

Maurer said Quentin Roberts was arrested and faces charges of domestic violence, criminal mischief and intoxication.

She had no information as to whether anyone else was in the home during Roberts’ outburst.
