Man critically injured after being hit by FrontRunner train in SLC

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Jan. 18, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A man in his early 20s is in extremely critical condition after being hit by a FrontRunner train near downtown Salt Lake City late Wednesday night.

Lt. Kyle Bosgieter, UTA Police, told Gephardt Daily the man was walking on the rail line a couple of hundred feet west of the crossing at South Temple St. and 600 West when he was struck by the northbound train.

Lt. Bosgieter said investigators would review video shot from FrontRunner to determine exactly where the man was positioned when he was hit.

There was no word on the man’s identity.
