TOOELE COUNTY, May 9, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — One man is dead after an early morning traffic accident in Tooele County.
According to Utah Highway Patrol troopers, the incident began at 2:27 a.m. at Interstate 80 near mile post 33 when a west bound 2013 Isuzu van attempted to pass a slow-moving 1998 Nissan Pathfinder.
The vehicles collided just as they were being passed by semi truck.
The semi struck the Pathfinder causing it to roll. The single occupant, a male driver, was not wearing his seatbelt, and suffered fatal injuries.
The name of the victim has not yet been released.
The accident remains under investigation.
