LEHI, Utah, July 26, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — One man is dead after he jumped from a bridge over Interstate 15 in Lehi Saturday.

A news release from Utah Highway Patrol said the incident occurred at approximately 11:55 a.m. when witnesses reported that a man had climbed up onto the side of I-15 at mile post 284 and “looked like he might jump off the bridge.”

Shortly after it was reported that the man had jumped and had no pulse.

“Rescue attempts were made and Life Flight was called but the male was pronounced dead at the scene,” the news release said. “Life Flight cleared without transport.”

The 284 southbound off-ramp was closed for investigation and to land the helicopter but has since reopened.

The deceased man has not been identified pending notification of family members.

Gephardt Daily does not usually report on suicides unless they occur in a public place or otherwise impact a community.
