ST. GEORGE, Utah, Oct. 8, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A man in his 60s died after hitting a parked car while riding a motor scooter in St. George Monday night.

St. George Police Officer Tiffany Atkin told Gephardt Daily the incident occurred just before 8:30 p.m. in the area of 2300 E. 2800 South.

The man was riding a Honda motor scooter when, for an unknown reason, he collided with a car that was legally parked on the side of the road.

Atkin said an officer was on the scene within two minutes and began CPR on the man. He was then transported to an area hospital by ground ambulance, where he passed away.

It’s not clear at this early stage how fast the man was going or why he collided with the vehicle.

A Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team was called to the scene and will work to determine what exactly occurred.

The deceased man has not been identified pending notification of family.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
