Motorcyclist dies in West Valley City crash

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Aug. 25, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A man is dead Friday night after his motorcycle collided with a vehicle in the area of 3500 South and 4800 West.

West Valley City Police Lt. Kent Stokes said the call came in around 10:45 p.m. about an auto-motorcycle accident.

A car heading east was turning left to go north on 4800 West, he said. The motorcycle was westbound and struck the back end of the vehicle.

Some officers were eating nearby when the crash occurred, and they and several bystanders ran to give aid to the motorcyclist. They immediately noticed that the motorcyclist had severe head trauma, Stokes said.

When medical personnel arrived, they pronounced the man deceased.

Stokes said the driver of the car involved in the crash and all witnesses stayed at the scene.

Police are still in the earliest stage of the investigation.

“We’re trying to piece together exactly what happened. Our investigation right now is into how the vehicles struck. We’ll be trying to determine the speeds,” Stokes said.

He added that there was no indication of impairment at this time.

  1. They should be more cautious especially in driving a motorcycle, they must know the rules of the road, speed limit and everything, anyways thank you for sharing this blog!
