OREM, Utah, Sept. 21, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A 39-year-old man was arrested Thursday night after police say he deliberately drove into a neighbor’s home because he was high on drugs and had a “beef” with the neighbor.
Jeffrey Giles was taken into custody after intentionally driving into Ryan Yardley’s living room, Orem Police Lt. Craig Martinez said.
Giles reportedly fled the scene and was located a few blocks away.
Initially, it was thought that the car plowed into the house as the result of an accident, but Martinez said Giles told officers he did it on purpose and was high on meth.
Yardley and his family were not home when the crash occurred, and no one was injured in the bizarre incident.
The vehicle caused major structural damage to the house, however, and the home may have to be torn down.
Giles was booked into Utah County Jail on suspicion of DUI, aggravated assault and damage to property.
