Man faces felony charge after leaving photos on Walmart shopper’s vehicle in Layton

LAYTON, Utah, Feb. 17, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A 60-year-old man is facing a felony charge after he admitted placing two photos of his private parts on the car door handle of a woman heading into Walmart to shop, then waiting to return so he could see the look on her face.

Timothy James Odell is charged with distribution of pornographic material, a third-degree felony, after he left the photographs of his male organ.

Odell had shopped at the Walmart, at 1356 E. Highway 193, and returned to his truck on the morning of Jan. 26, his probable cause statement says. A short time later, a woman parked next to his truck and went into the Walmart.

“Timothy then pulled out of the parking stall and parked further north,” the statement says. “Timothy then walked to the victim’s vehicle and placed two rolled-up papers inside the door handle of the victim’s vehicle.”

He then returned to his truck and waited, the statement says.

“The female victim returned to her vehicle and found the rolled up papers inside her door handle,” it says.

“The victim stated she did not ask for the pornographic pictures and that she felt violated. The victim was afraid that the suspect was stalking her.”

Davis County Sheriff officials contacted Odell four days later.

“Post-Miranda, Timothy admitted to taking two pictures …” the statement says. Odell also admitted to going to the Walmart, and placing the pictures on the driver’s side door of the victim’s vehicle, and waiting nearby to see the woman’s reaction, it says.

“Timothy admitted he did this for the thrill of it, and to see the victim’s reaction.”
