Man found dead in Cache County irrigation pipe

BENSON, Utah, June 17, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A man was discovered deceased in an irrigation pipe in Benson on Monday morning.

“Early this morning Cache County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an adult male face down in an irrigation pipe,” the news release said. “The pipe is approximately two feet in diameter.”

The victim was discovered by a neighbor who called 911, officials said. The neighbor pulled the victim from the pipe, and when deputies arrived they started CPR. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

It’s not known at this time how long the man had been in the pipe or why he was there, the news release said.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing and more information will be available as the investigation continues, officials said.

The victim’s name is not being released at this time pending notification of family.

Benson is approximately five miles west of Logan.
