SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, Sept. 22, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A man was hit and killed by a TRAX train in South Salt Lake Saturday afternoon.

According to witnesses, the man jumped off the platform at the Millcreek Station, at 3300 South, seeming to do it on purpose. The impact with the moving train threw him back onto the platform.

Carl Arky, Utah Transit Authority spokesman, said a bus bridge has been activated for TRAX riders, and is operating between the Millcreek and Center Pointe (2100 South) stations.

Arky said the man has yet to be identified.

Various witnesses estimated the man was in his 20s or 30s, Arky said.
