SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, April 25, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — One man is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in the area of 350 West and 600 South early Wednesday morning, officials said.

The incident happened at approximately 5 a.m., the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a tweet, and the 600 South off-ramps from I-80 eastbound and I-15 southbound were closed for three hours after the crash.

The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital by ground ambulance, officials said. It appears at this time that he may have been in a crosswalk, but it’s not clear if he was crossing with or against the light.

The driver is cooperating with police. It’s not yet known whether they will be cited.

The man who was hit by the car has not been identified.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
