TAYLORSVILLE, Utah, Jan. 15, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A man was transported to the hospital in critical condition Monday night after he lost control of the Dodge Ram pickup truck he was driving on Interstate 215.

According to a news release from Utah Highway Patrol, the truck was traveling at a high rate of speed, northbound on I-215, at about 7:10 p.m.

UHP said the driver was going too fast when he tried to get onto the 4700 South off-ramp and lost control of the vehicle. The truck went to the right and hit the sound wall, then rolled twice and landed on its wheels.

The driver apparently was using his seat belt, but was wearing it improperly. He was thrown into the truck’s back seat and was partially ejected out the rear window.

He was taken to Intermountain Medical Center in critical condition.

The off-ramp was closed for about 90 minutes while officials investigated the crash and the debris was cleared.
