MILLCREEK, Utah, June 9, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A Unified Fire Authority firefighter and paramedic in his mid-30s is in stable condition after an auto-pedestrian accident on Millcreek Canyon Road early Sunday afternoon.
UFA public information officer Keith Garner told Gephardt Daily the incident happened in the area of 7901 Millcreek Canyon Road at approximately 12:45 p.m.
A vehicle traveling eastbound hit the man, who was transported to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray with hip and leg injuries. He was initially thought to be in critical condition but that condition was upgraded. Garner said his injuries are not life-threatening.
The person injured was later identified as a UFA firefighter, who was responding to a call in that location when he was struck.
No other details about the incident were available at this early stage. It doesn’t appear at this time that impairment played a role in the crash.
