HUNTSVILLE, Utah, May 12, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A 19-year-old man was seriously injured Friday at about 4:45 p.m. in an accident on Pineview Reservoir at Anderson Cove Campground.
Weber County Sheriff’s Cpl. Ty Dalton said the man was waterboarding with friends who had a boat.
“He did a backflip and landed the wrong way,” Dalton said.
The man sustained a compound fracture of his lower right leg and was transported to the hospital by ground ambulance. Dalton said a helicopter was brought in as a precaution but wasn’t needed.
The man was conscious and answering questions after the accident, Dalton said, and it appeared that the fractured leg was his only injury.
Dalton said the man is from Weber County, but his identity has not been released.
