Man, juvenile hospitalized after stabbing in downtown Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 15, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A juvenile male and a man were hospitalized after a stabbing in downtown Salt Lake City Thursday evening.

Salt Lake City Police officials said the incident occurred at the 600 Lofts at 600 South and 90 East at approximately 7 p.m.

Officials said a man was intoxicated and was upset he was not allowed into his girlfriend’s apartment in the building. The girlfriend was not home at the time, officials said.

The intoxicated man then got into an argument with his girlfriend’s teenage son.

The woman then arrived back at the apartment and, unaware of the altercation, let the man into the apartment.

The assault occured shortly afterward. There was a knife involved with the incident and both males were injured but at this stage it’s not clear who was stabbed.

The man and the juvenile’s injuries were described as minor, and they were transported to area hospitals for evaluation.
