Man Killed in Auto Pedestrian Accident Saturday Morning
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – June 23, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) Salt Lake City Police have identified a man who was killed while walking down Victory Road Saturday morning.
According to Detective Greg Wilking, Salt Lake City Police, Adrian Gonzalez, 23, was walking down a dark road at 3:30 a.m. wearing very dark clothing when he was struck by a car going the same direction.
“This is not a very well lit area, it’s a quick way in and out of the Capitol and there is a lot of traffic during certain times of the day,” said Wilking.
The driver said he knew he had hit something but did not know it was an individual until he got out of the car and discovered his body lying in the road.
Detective Wilking said they are currently looking into whether Gonzalez was impaired but as of right now they are not sure what he was doing walking down the middle of the road that early in the morning.
