WOODS CROSS, Utah, Feb. 3, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Highway Patrol has identified a driver killed Friday morning in a multi-car crash on northbound I-15 near Woods Cross.

Brady M. Shepherd, 33 and from Tayorsville, died at the scene.

UHP investigators say the accident happened at about 5:45 a.m. near 1500 South after Shepherd’s car, a 2007 Subaru, crossed four lanes of traffic and slammed into a highway divider before coming to a stop in the HOV lane.

His car came to a stop, facing east, and had no lights on.

The driver of a 2015 Chevy Cruze saw the Subaru at the last moment, swerved to avoid a collision, and sideswiped the vehicle. After the impact, the driver of the Cruze returned to the location and parked on the shoulder with her hazards on to warn others. There were no injuries to the people in the Chevy Cruze.

A third vehicle, also a 2007 Subaru, didn’t see the first Subaru disabled in the HOV lane. The third driver T-boned the first on the passenger side. The driver of the third vehicle was transported by ground to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
