Man Killed In Kamas Rollover Identified; Driver Arrested

KAMAS, UTAH – October 24, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – One person is dead and another in jail after a single vehicle rollover in Kamas Saturday morning.

According to  Sgt. Mary Kaye Lucas, Utah Highway Patrol, around 4 a.m., a vehicle was traveling east on Mirror Lake Highway when it failed to negotiate a curve, hit an embankment and rolled.

When troopers arrived they found one victim, identified as Lawrence (Larry) Paul, 28, who had not been wearing a seatbelt, had been ejected and died on scene.

Early indications showed there were other individuals involved in the accident, however, no one else was at the scene when officers arrived. After the investigation, troopers were able to determine Paul was a passenger, along with another male, Logan Brown, 18, in the vehicle driven by the registered owner, Randon Robertson, 20. Both Robertson and Brown left the scene of the accident.

Robertson was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries and has not been booked into jail. He faces charges of automobile homicide, possession of alcohol by a minor, and leaving the scene of an injury crash. Brown has been booked into the Summit County Jail on charges of obstruction of justice and possession of alcohol by a minor.
