Motorcycle Accident in Spanish Fork

SPANISH FORK, UTAH – October 24, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – A man on a motorcycle who died after colliding with a pick-up truck in Spanish Fork Saturday night has been identified.

According to Sgt. Spencer Cannon, Utah County Sheriff’s office, 20-year-old Joseph Daniel Campbell, of Spanish Fork, was traveling west at high rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road and drove into oncoming traffic. Campbell lost control of his motorcycle, fell to the road, then slid underneath the front end of an oncoming pickup.

There were three occupants in the pickup who were all uninjured and they immediately began to try to help Campbell, who sustained extensive trauma to his head and the rest of his body. The driver, along with others who stopped, administered CPR to Campbell, however, when Spanish Fork EMS personnel arrived they determined Campbell was deceased.

The incident is still under investigation. Deputies are still trying to determine if drugs or alcohol are possible additional factors.
