Police: Man pulled from car at red light in SLC, assaulted, vehicle stolen

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, June 7, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are searching for three suspects after a man was allegedly punched through the window of his car at a red light, then dragged from his vehicle and assaulted, officials said.

The three suspects then drove away in the vehicle, according to a news release from the Salt Lake City Police Department.

The incident occurred in the area of 1200 W. 1000 North, just before 2:45 a.m.

“A man was stopped at a red light, when he was punched through an open window, pulled from the car, assaulted and then had his vehicle stolen,” the news release said.

It’s not clear whether the man was injured severely enough to be transported to the hospital.

The suspects are described as three Polynesian men in their 20s wearing dark clothes. One of the suspects may have been wearing a flannel hoodie.

The stolen vehicle is described as a blue 2011 Toyota Corolla.
