SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, June 8, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — When the man in a green sweatshirt and blue jeans walked into KFC a little after 4 p.m. Thursday, he wasn’t there for the chicken.

South Salt Lake Police Sgt. Gary Keller said the man entered the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant at 3890 S. State, lifted his shirt to display a knife in a sheath, and demanded money.

The employees complied, and the man left with an undisclosed amount of cash from the till. He headed westbound on 3900 South.

Keller said police used a canine to track the suspect, but the scent ended at the Trax Meadowbrook station, where the man apparently got on the train and blended in with the crowd.

The suspect is described as 5 feet 6 inches to 6 feet tall, darker skinned, with a very thin build. He was wearing a green sweatshirt, white T-shirt and blue jeans. No estimate of his age was available.
