SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Dec. 27, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A fist fight between two men near the intersection of 400 E. 600 South took an unexpected turn Tuesday night when one of them jumped behind the wheel of a Jeep Liberty and ran the other man down.
Police on scene told Gephardt Daily the incident happened around 10 p.m.
When officers arrived they found the man who had been hit by the Jeep, along with a number of auto parts strewn along the ground.
Witnesses said the injured man was pinned under the vehicle as the Jeep drove off.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital with what SLCPD Lt. Scott Smalley called “somewhat minor injuries.”
Police said as the Jeep’s driver attempted to escape he drove into a guy-wire, leaving pieces of the vehicle behind.
While police canvassed the area officers located the Jeep Liberty, not far from where the incident took place.
Lt. Smalley told Gephardt Daily they had identified the Jeep’s owner, but did not necessarily believe he was involved in the fight.
As of 1:25 a.m. Wednesday no arrests had been made.
Gephardt Daily will update the story as more information becomes available.
