SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, July 7, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — A man who pleaded guilty to two felonies in the Jan. 27 assault on a Salt Lake County high school student has been sentenced.
Creed Cole Lujan, 44, has been ordered to spend 15 years to life in prison. The crimes he pleaded guilty to were:
- Aggravated kidnapping, a first-degree felony
- Forcible sodomy, a first-degree felony
In exchange for the two pleas, the following charges against Lujan were dismissed with prejudice:
- Rape, a first-degree felony
- Aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony
- Three counts of sexual assault of a minor, a second-degree felony
- Obstructing justice, a second-degree felony
Lujan admitted to kidnapping and assaulting the girl, who was walking home from school at the time he kidnapped her. Lujan is on parole for a 2008 felony aggravated attempted murder. He was paroled in 2015.
Lujan was sentenced to two terms, but they will run concurrently. He was sentenced to 15-years-to-life for aggravated kidnapping and 5-years-to-life for forcible sodomy.
