WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Dec. 23, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A 65-year-old man was transported to the hospital in serious condition Saturday night after his vehicle collided with a minivan on Bangerter Highway.

West Valley City Police Lt. Justin Wyckoff told Gephardt Daily the crash occurred just before 7:30 p.m.

The man was behind the wheel of a passenger car heading south on Bangerter when he drifted into the northbound lanes near 2328 South, Wyckoff said.

His car collided with a minivan, and the man suffered serious injuries.

He was transported to the hospital and was then transferred to Intermountain Medical Center in serious condition.

The 39-year-old woman who was driving the minivan had minor injuries, Wyckoff said.

It wasn’t known if either person was using their seat belt, and the traffic unit was still on scene, reconstructing the accident, late Saturday night, Wyckoff said.
