Man shot in leg after confronting vandals in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 26, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A man was shot in the leg after confronting a group of people vandalizing a car in Salt Lake City early Sunday morning.

Salt Lake City Police Department spokesman Lt. Russ Amott told Gephardt Daily a man and a woman heard noises outside their home in the area of 900 W. 800 North at approximately 5 a.m.

They saw a group of three or four people vandalizing the woman’s car, and when they confronted the group, one of the vandals shot the man in the leg.

The man was transported to an area hospital in “bravo,” or stable condition, Amott said.

The suspects fled and have not been apprehended. The gunman is described as a white man in his late 20s.
