SPANISH FORK, Utah, July 6, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A man who had been reported after an alleged domestic violence incident in Utah County was critically injured Saturday morning when his vehicle hit an Interstate 15 barrier.

The man was driving a gray pickup on Route 6 and entering northbound I-15 in Spanish Fork when the incident occurred just before 4 a.m. Saturday, Trooper Heywood, Utah Highway Patrol, told Gephardt Daily.

“The driver lost control of his vehicle and crossed through lanes of travel and collided with the concrete median,” Heywood said at about 5:45 p.m. Saturday.

“He was the driver and single occupant of the vehicle, and he was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, and he’s still in critical condition.”

The man’s pickup truck was headed the right direction in traffic, but turned around when he hit the barrier, and it came to rest facing south, Heywood said.

It is believed the man may have been driving while impaired, Heywood added.

Gephardt Daily will have more details as information is released.
