CEDAR CITY, Utah, Sept. 15, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A fugitive wanted on a warrant for attempted murder and assault in Riverside County, California, was arrested Friday in Cedar City.
The suspect has been identified as Joshua Swarthout, 38.
According to a probable cause statement filed in Iron County by a Cedar City Police officer, the officer was contacted by a detective from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, who had secured the warrant for Swarthout and had information regarding his location in Cedar City.
The Cedar City Police Department, Iron County Sheriff’s Office and SWAT coordinated an operation to apprehend Swarthout, and he was taken into custody without incident.
Swarthout was booked into the Iron County Jail.
