SANDY, Utah, Aug. 8, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are investigating the armed robbery of a snow cone shop in the parking lot of Reams grocery store Tuesday night.
Sandy Police Department Sgt. Jason Nielson told Gephardt Daily a 911 call reporting the robbery came in at about 9:10 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found three juvenile employees — two girls and a boy — in the Finest Sno on Earth shop at 10650 S. 700 East.
“An adult male walked up, showed them a handgun, and demanded money,” Nielson said. “He received an undisclosed amount and left on foot.
“One of the kids requested medical attention, just as a precaution, because this was so upsetting,” Nielson added.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his 30s, with long, blond, shoulder-length hair. He was wearing a blue button-up shirt with a white T-shirt, shorts, sandals and sunglasses.
He approached and left the shop on foot, and no vehicle was seen.
A similar armed robbery occurred recently in Cottonwood Heights at the snow cone shop near Fort Union Boulevard and 20th East.
