MAPLETON, Utah, June 11, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in Mapleton have released surveillance video of a man burglarizing two local businesses last week.

“It appears that the same person committed both burglaries,” the news release said. “It also appears that the suspect is a serial burglar that is traveling state to state committing burglaries.”

The suspect was caught on video a week earlier, allegedly committing a burglary in Colorado, as well as a burglary in Idaho this past weekend.

In the video, the suspect is seen sitting in an office chair holding a flashlight and cloth covering one of his hands that is used to open the drawers of a desk. The suspect can be seen slowly rifling through the drawers, then standing up and going to the corner of the room to look at something else.

The man appears to be Caucasian, and heavy set with a bald head, wearing a light-colored T-shirt and shorts.

Police also released a video of the suspect’s car. The time stamp on the video is June 7 at 2:01 a.m.

Anyone that recognizes the suspect or has any information about the incidents is asked to call Mapleton PD on 801-491-8048.
