MAPLETON, Utah, June 10, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) -- A Utah County therapist has been arrested after a former patient accused him of rape and sexual abuse.
Kevin Michael White, 56, was arrested Monday for investigation of the alleged crimes of:
- Rape, a first-degree felony
- Object rape, a first-degree felony
- Forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony
- Distribution/offer/arrange distribution of a controlled substances, a class B misdemeanor
According to court documents, the complainant, a 26-year-old former patient, "recounted her experiences in therapy" and "shared that she struggled with body image issues, and during their sessions, White would ask her to stand up and turn around so he could compliment her beauty."
White would place his hands on her chest while she cried, she said. She assumed it was a normal part of therapy, she told investigators.
"Later, White told her that he did this because it was close to her breasts. The victim clarified that she never viewed their relationship as romantic; she regarded White as a fatherly figure."
The woman said that in January 2024, she was crying during a therapy session, and White hugged and kissed her, "which left her completely shocked and frozen." The woman said she did not consent.
"She stated that after she felt distressed, White would twist things to appear to be an act of love."
The woman said she often stayed in hotels in Utah County, and White expressed a desire to sleep next to her. The woman reportedly told White nothing sexual should happen in the hotel room, but he initiated sexual acts, she told police.
The woman said she became upset, and went to the bathroom alone, but returned to find White had cut himself and was bleeding, she told police.
"She felt she could never say no to him again, fearing what he might do to himself."
The woman said White would bring Ketamine and apply Ketamine therapy to her at a hotel, and also administered it to himself.
"She also noted that White made suicidal threats, claiming that if the situation was ever reported, he would take his own life."
"When the victim cut ties with him, he sent her $1,400, which felt like a payoff to ensure her silence," the affidavit reports her saying.
Police investigators interviewed White, and post Miranda, he admitted to having a sexual relationship with his patient, court documents say.
He denied providing Ketamine, but said he administered Ketamine therapy with the supply the woman provided.
White was booked into the Utah County jail without bail.
