MIDVALE, Utah, Sept. 9, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Two suspects thought to be involved in a double shooting in Midvale last weekend, which left one man dead, are now in custody, police said.

Unified Police Department Detective Ken Hansen said Jonathon Rodgers, 28, was arrested Thursday night in Ogden. Rodgers was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on multiple charges including murder and attempted murder.

Hansen said a second suspect, Christopher Bailey, 35, was also arrested Thursday night, in Rose Park. Bailey was booked into jail for a federal probation violation, but Hansen said other charges related to the Midvale case are anticipated.

The shooting at Brighton Apartments, 189 W. Plumtree Lane (6905 South), took place Sept. 3 at approximately 9:55 a.m. Deondre Baldwin, 21, died on the scene, and Brennar Larson, 20, remains in critical but stable condition in an area hospital.

Witnesses told police that Rodgers, along with a second man, broke into the apartment and demanded money and drugs. A fight then broke out and shots were fired.

A third person at the apartment at the time of the shooting called police after the two suspects left, according to police.
