SANDY, Utah, March 22, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The Sandy Police Department said Wednesday afternoon two missing juveniles, a 12-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, have been located.

Sandy Police spokesman Sgt. Jason Nielsen said in a news release Tuesday Makahlan Murray, 12, known as Mickey, was last seen in her residence by her mother at 10 p.m.
Monday. Makahlan’s mother woke up Tuesday morning and noticed her daughter was missing.

“The evening of March 20, Makahlan informed some of her friends that she was going to run away,” the news release said. “Makahlan has run away in the past, but usually returns home by the morning time. It has been 12 hours since Makahlan last had contact with her mother.”

She was last seen with 14-year-old Josh Barbee, of Taylorsville, who on Monday was reported as a runaway.

Wednesday afternoon, Sandy Police said Makahlan and Josh were located earlier in Sandy. “Both Makahlan and Josh were not injured and this was a case of runaways,” said a news release from police.
