SANPETE COUNTY, Utah, July 17, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A 75-year-old Sanpete County man, missing since Monday, was located alive at about noon on Wednesday.

“Update: Clair Dorius was located today at about 12 p.m. approximately 9 miles northwest of Fayette,” a statement from the Sanpete Sheriff Department says.

“He was found in reasonably good health and was attempting to find his way out of the mountains after crashing his vehicle.”

Dorius had last been seen driving a four-wheeled John Deere Gator, an off-road vehicle, north out of Fayette, a previous SCSO statement said.

“He was located through the combined efforts of Sanpete County Search and Rescue, Sanpete County Sheriff’s Office, Gunnison Valley Fire Department, some of his family members, and information gathered from many community members in the Fayette area,” the sheriff’s office update says.

“We would like to thank everyone that helped in his recovery.”
