UINTAH COUNTY, Utah, Sept. 21, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Blayne Parkin, reported missing from Spanish Fork on Wednesday, Sept. 11, was found deceased in a remote area of Uintah County on Saturday, Sept. 21.

“Deputies were informed that it was believed his last location was an oilfield location in Uintah County,” a Uintah County Sheriff statement says. “Deputies searched that area that night and the following day where a camper shell believed to belong to Parkin was located at an oilfield location.

“With this information, Uintah County SAR teams were activated. With the assistance of Civil Air Patrol, Parkin’s vehicle was located on Sept. 18 approximately 40-45 miles away from the camper shell in a remote portion of Uintah County, approximately 5 miles west of the Colorado state line.”

Ground crews searched the area for multiple days.

“Canine teams started searching Friday and into Saturday where a deceased male individual, later identified as Blayne Parkin, was located approximately 1.25 miles from the location of his vehicle. At this time, investigators are still processing the scene, however there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances. Parkin will be transported to Utah Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.

“We would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of Blayne Parkin and our gratitude to Uintah County Search and Rescue, Civil Air Patrol, Department of Public Safety, Dogs at Work, Rocky Mountain Search Dogs, Utah Search Dogs, Utah County Search Dogs, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Ute Tribe Search and Rescue and Utah County Sheriff’s Office.”
