Moab Police seek suspect in campground Jeep robbery

MOAB, Utah, Sept. 4, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Moab Police are searching for a suspect who stole a Jeep rock crawler from Canyonlands Campground Thursday night.

The incident occurred at 10:30 p.m. at the campground at 555 S. Main St., Moab City Police Department said in a news release on Facebook Monday.

The vehicle, a yellow Jeep rock crawler with Georgia license plate DIXIEJP, was recovered Sunday in Spanish Valley, which is just south of Moab, but the suspect has not been found. The Jeep sustained minor damage.

The suspect is believed to be a white male in his 20s with long dark hair, a thin build and tattoos on his left arm. He was in the company of a black dog, possibly a lab.

“We apologize for the poor quality of the video but it’s all we’ve got to work with at the moment,” the news release said.
