MONA, Utah, Sept. 25, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A new wildfire has been reported in the Mount Nebo area east of Mona, west of the Bald Mountain Fire, officials said Tuesday.

“Initial attack crews are on scene,” said a Twitter post from Utah Fire Info at 12:30 p.m. “It is not part of the Bald Mountain Fire, though crews from Bald Mountain are assisting. That is all the information we have at this time.”

The blaze, which has been named the Pack Fire, is suspected to have been caused by lightning. As of 3 p.m.. the fire had burned between two and five acres.

The Bald Mountain Fire, which has merged with the Pole Creek Fire, is now holding at 18,600 acres and is 61 percent contained, according to the InciWeb website.

The Pole Creek Fire has barely increased in size at 101,843 acres Tuesday morning and is now 55 percent contained.

A total of 1,688 personnel are still assigned to those two fires, a news release from the Utah County Sheriff’s Office said.
